PunchMonkeyServer
The website that runs PunchMonkey races: events, courses, live results and the race director’s console.

What it is
PunchMonkeyServer runs races, scavenger hunts and any event built around visiting checkpoints: racers check in at each one by tapping a tag, scanning a QR code, or by GPS. It is the server behind the PunchMonkey app, and a website of its own.
Racers find events and courses and follow results live. Race directors create events, races, legs and checkpoints in the browser. Racers without the app, including iPhone users, can race from the phone’s browser.
Racing without the app
- Open punchmonkeyserver.com on your phone and choose Find an Event or Course.
- Open your event and press Start Race (or Join Race when the event has several races).
- At each checkpoint, scan its QR code or check in by GPS. Allow the page to use your camera or location when it asks.
Tapping NFC tags needs the PunchMonkey app on an Android phone.
What you can do
- Find an event or course near you, now or coming up.
- Live scoreboards for ongoing events, and an archive of past ones, with leaderboard, team, leg and map views.
- Race from any phone’s browser, with no app: check in by QR code or GPS.
- Checkpoint types beyond the plain punch: Mystery (locked clues), Bearing (compass-and-distance hints), and Hidden checkpoints revealed by a trigger.
- A race director’s console: create events, races, legs and checkpoints; import checkpoints from GPX or KML; print QR codes.
- Anyone can become a race director, with no approval step.
- The Map Library that NaViViewer reads from.
- Help guides for organizing a race, NFC tags, checkpoints, teams and results screens.
