What it is
CourseBuilder+ organises a course into modules, each with topics and learning outcomes. From those it makes narrated presentations, documents, quiz questions, assignments, cloze notes, games and activities, and shows how each one lines up with your outcomes.
The finished course goes to your LMS or to a website on GitHub Pages. AI does the drafting if you want it, using your own key. CourseBuilder+ was called PreseMaker until version 2.0.
After it installs, open it from the Start menu.
Help
CourseBuilder+ help — every window, with pictures. New to it? Start with Getting started: from a new course to a course website in five steps.
- Creating a course — name it, describe it, and choose the modules the AI proposes.
- Building modules — each module's topics and learning outcomes.
- Generating content — presentations, documents, quizzes, assignments, cloze notes, games and more.
- Publishing and exporting — a course website, your LMS (Common Cartridge, SCORM), a backup, GitHub.
- Importing — a course from your LMS, your old files, a backup or a course repository.
- Batch actions — topics, outcomes and content for many modules at once.
- AI keys — what they are, what they cost, and how to add one.
What you can do
- Build a course from modules, topics and learning outcomes — drafted by AI or typed by hand.
- PowerPoint decks, one per topic or merged, with narration and captions built in.
- Documents as web pages, Markdown, Word or PDF — including topic pages with YouTube videos you approve, and a topic's detail page and its videos combined into one.
- Import and Classify: bring in a folder of old course files and links; AI suggests where each belongs, and you check the list.
- Batch Actions: make one kind of content for many modules at once.
- Quiz banks for Common Cartridge (QTI) and WPProQuiz, assignments, and cloze notes at three levels.
- Export to IMS Common Cartridge (Canvas, Brightspace, Moodle, Blackboard), SCORM 1.2, or a course website in three looks, with a Google "Search this site" box, on GitHub Pages or any web host.
- An accessibility check against WCAG 2.1 AA, with fixes.
- Bring your own AI key (Claude, Gemini, OpenAI, Mistral or xAI). See the estimated cost before a run.
- No account, no ads, no analytics.
What's new in 2.0.2
Submitted to the Microsoft Store in October 2026.
- Search this site: a course website can have a "Search this site" box on its home page, powered by Google. CourseBuilder+ writes the sitemap Google needs and walks you through Google Search Console step by step.
- Topic Detail with Video: a topic's detail page and its recommended videos in one page, in Generate Documents and in Batch Actions; several topics can be merged into one document. When both parts already exist, no AI is used.
- Getting an AI key is easier: AI Settings has a "How?" beside each provider that says exactly what to choose on the provider's website, and a dated step-by-step help page for every provider.
What's new in 2.0.1
On the Microsoft Store since October 5, 2026.
- Import and Classify Content: bring in files, a whole folder or web links. AI suggests what each one is and which module and topic it belongs to; you check the list, change anything, and import. Assignments and quizzes in documents can become editable assignments and quiz-bank questions.
- Course Files: a syllabus, schedule or course-wide link has a place of its own.
- Topics and Embedded Video: for each topic, YouTube is searched, AI suggests the best videos, you approve them or paste your own, and the page says why each is worth watching.
- Generate Content for many modules in one window.
- Course websites: new course and module pages, accessible colours, three looks, and Publish Course Website in one window — GitHub Pages or any host.
